 | | | | | Marbleseed Launches New Podcast - In Her Boots Presents: Breaking Ground We are thrilled to announce that we recently launched a brand-new podcast, In Her Boots Presents: Breaking Ground! Itβs a Farm Bill year, which means thereβs an opportunity to change agricultural policy in the United States and the way it helpsβor hurtsβfarmers. Right now, policies reward and finance agriculture that produce singular crops or livestock at an industrial scale, often to the detriment of communities, animal welfare, and the planet. So, what happens when farmers want to do things differently? The podcast features farmers Dria Price and Halima Salazar and their journey to fund their diversified farming operation, Justevia Teas. Dria and Halima were interviewed for this podcast in December 2022 by Tiffany LaShae, host of Marbleseedβs podcast, In Her Boots (Bootless). Listen to Marbleseedβs new two-part audio series to dig into the intricacies of starting a farm from the ground up at marbleseed.org/podcasts, or anywhere you get your podcasts. |

| | | Nominate a 2024 Farmer of the Year or Changemaker Nominations are open for the 2024 Farmer of the Year and 2024 Changemaker. The Farmer of the Year award is meant to honor farmers who have contributed to the organic farming movement through significant experience and to network those leaders with less practiced farmers. Farmers of the Year serve as important guides to our organization as the organic movement continues to evolve. The Changemaker recognition is a relatively new effort to celebrate emerging leaders in the organic farming and food movement who creatively overcome systemic challenges in order to nurture a thriving agricultural future for all. Both awardees will be honored at Marbleseed's 35th Organic Farming Conference in February 2024. Learn more β |
